Grazing Exclusion Changed the Complexity and Keystone Species of Alpine Meadows on the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau

چکیده
Grazing exclusion is an effective approach to restore degraded grasslands. However, the effects of grazing on keystone species and complexity plant community were poorly investigated. Here, we conducted a field survey among different durations, i.e., Grazing, below 5 years, with 7 over in alpine meadows central Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau (QTP). The analyzed by network analysis. results showed following: (1) richness did not change, but aboveground biomass coverage tended increase extension duration. (2) soil nutrients, total nitrogen, organic carbon, available potassium, remained stable, while bulk density decreased under conditions. (3) There was hump-shaped change (i.e., average connectivity clustering coefficient) along Moreover, treatments. Based changes species, optimum duration for should be between years. Our suggest that besides productivity, considered when adopted meadows.

Effects of Nitrogen and Phosphorus Fertilization on Soil Carbon Fractions in Alpine Meadows on the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau
In grassland ecosystems, N and P fertilization often increase plant productivity, but there is no concensus if fertilization affects soil C fractions. We tested effects of N, P and N+P fertilization at 5, 10, 15 g m-2 yr-1 (N5, N10, N15, P5, P10, P15, N5P5, N10P10, and N15P15) compared to unfertilized control on soil C, soil microbial biomass and functional diversity at the 0-20 cm and 20-40 cm...

15 صفحه اولGrazing Exclusion to Recover Degraded Alpine Pastures Needs Scientific Assessments across the Northern Tibetan Plateau
The northern Tibetan Plateau is the most traditional and important semi-nomadic region in Tibet. The alpine vegetation is sensitive and vulnerable to climate change and human activities, and is also important as an ecological security in protecting the headwaters of major rivers in Asia. Therefore, the Tibetan alpine grasslands have fundamental significance to both Mainland China and South Asia...

Methane emission by plant communities in an alpine meadow on the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau: a new experimental study of alpine meadows and oat pasture.
Recently, plant-derived methane (CH(4)) emission has been questioned because limited evidence of the chemical mechanism has been identified to account for the process. We conducted an experiment with four treatments (i.e. winter-grazed, natural alpine meadow; naturally restored alpine meadow eight years after cultivation; oat pasture and bare soil without roots) during the growing seasons of 20...
